AIKIDO HOMBU DOJO / AIKIKAI
The United States Aikido Alliance may initially consist of those who currently enjoy direct relationships with Hombu Dojo/Aikikai but it is not limited to such. The purpose of an Aikido Alliance is to have solidarity of all forms of Aikido in the U.S. — Aikikai, Yoshinkan, Takemusu, Ki Society, Kokikai, Tomiki, etc., etc. And as members of an Aikido Alliance those direct relationships with parent organizations would continue with no interruption, interference or changes.
However, there is no simple forum for all of these entities to simply and efficiently come together in order to properly address common concerns, discuss issues or ideas or represent as a unified group our shared interests and goals here in the U.S..
An Aikido Alliance would have a positive impact and influence on any shared concerns, goals or  national/international representation.
INTERNATIONAL AIKIDO FEDERATION (IAF)
As you may know, the I.A.F, works in conjunction with Hombu Dojo/Aikikai and follows a policy, which continues to this day, of recognizing only one Aikido organization per country. Here in the United States, therefore, every Aikido organization, dojo and aikidoka has been represented by only one organization—the U.S.A.F. This out-dated policy fails to acknowledge and represent the vast majority of legitimate Aikido practitioners not only here in the U.S. but in other countries around the world. Therefore, many countries have adopted similar umbrella alliances for unification and in order to better represent the legitimate Aikido entities within their respective countries.
Likewise, a coalition such as the Aikido Alliance representing the majority of Aikido entities in the U.S.  would also positively impact that representation. By coming together under an Aikido Alliance, all of the legitimate Aikido in the United States can be properly acknowledged and equally recognized in order to move forward with a more unified voice.
